GFA Introduction to Film & Television Production (1000) Practice Test

Color temperature describes how warm or cool a light looks. Daylight runs cooler (around 5600K) while tungsten is warmer (around 3200K). To make a daylight-source look like tungsten on camera, you use a Color Temperature Orange gel. It warms the light, lowering its color temperature so it reads as tungsten. The blue gel would do the opposite, pushing toward daylight; diffusion changes softness but not color; neutral density reduces brightness without changing color.
